Based off my personal experience, this is a rough estimate of of how "common" each Pokemon is in Ranked.

S-Tier: Also known as "G**d**n Everywhere". You are guaranteed at least two of these across both teams in every game. Sometimes three. Sometimes all four! And often both teams will have the same 'mon. And it's usually Cinderace. Almost every game will have at least one Cinderace.
A-Tier: AKA "Common". Getting a game without at least two of these is a rare occurrence. Not sure if Blastoise will hold up, this was made shortly after its release. I really wish Wigglytuff was rarer. I hate playing against Wigglytuff.
B-Tier: "Uncommon". You might get one, maybe two of these per game, but it's not strange to see none of them at all. My read on Eldegoss might be inaccurate though; when I play, there's always an Eldegoss.
C-Tier: "Rare". You probably end up seeing them once every ten games or so. Assuming you don't get matched with the same Machamp player over and over for an hour straight.
I feel like I need a D-Tier, because at times it feels like Blissey, Talonflame, and Cramorant are endangered species.

In general, tier lists can be interpreted as follows:

  • S: Top-tier Pokemon. These are the best Pokemon to play in general.
  • A: Great Pokemon. These are great options of Pokemon to play and can provide good synergy to your team.
  • B: Good Pokemon. While these Pokemon aren't necessarily ideal to play, they can provide certain synergies allowing them to perform well.
  • C: Okay Pokemon. These Pokemon are typically less than ideal to play.

Remember to upvote and share the tier lists you like best. Players like you put their hearts and souls into creating these lists in the hopes of sharing what they know with the world. Or, if you find these picks to be in error, make your own tier list via the link at the top of the Tier Lists page! The more the community discusses these things, the better we'll all become.
