Guide

(Updated to match 1.1.1.4 buffs)

Venusaur's Special Moves are nothing to scoff at, and this build reflects that property and amplifies it. However, due to his rather fragile nature, some HP and Defense has been thrown in to help keep him alive in dire situations.

Sp. ATK Specs helps Venusaur build up his Specials after a goal, Shell Bell offers HP after each Special hit, and Energy Amplifier provides an additional boost in power after his Unite move. This trio of items helps blend in Venusaur's already high Special Move Damage with some healing to keep him alive. Energy Amplifier does stick out like a sore thumb, but it keeps his damage up even after he uses his Unite move.

In terms of his build path, it's best to focus on his long range moves (Razor Leaf/Solar Beam) to melt away health with ease. The recent 1.1.1.4 patch has made his AoE moves much more viable in this build thanks to the increased damage and status effect length. And lastly, Giga Drain provides an HP and Defense buff with each successful hit, allowing for more survivability in battle. Granted, its shorter range makes it harder to take advantage of those buffs, just be careful whenever you use it.

So, which Special Moves should you go with? As stated before, 1.1.1.4 has made Venusaur's AoE moves much better and more fitting for a build like this. The damage buffs of this build compliment the buffs rather well, making a more AoE focused route a now decent choice. However, the most viable build is likely Solar Beam/Giga Drain. The HP and Defense buffs he can gather paired with the already high damage and long range of Solar Beam makes for a very devastating pair.

Using this build in battle means being careful where you aim and running away when needed. His long range moves help you with the latter. Just remember that Venusaur can still take a lot of damage, so play your cards wisely and you're soild.

Works Well With

Lucario

He works well with this Venusaur as a bottom lane buddy. The firepower of both Pokemon makes for high damage and Venusaur can fight at longer ranges to help cover for Lucario's Melee range.

Eldegoss

1.1.1.4 has seen some nerfs for one of Eldegoss's best qualities, that being their HP buffs. They can still help Venusaur if he's in a pinch however, so it's still a worthwhile pair to run.

Snorlax

His ability to tank hits and stun opponents is nigh unfair, and works very well as a shield to help cover for Venusaur. Snorlax also does incredible damage, so the two can also make for a good offensive duo in a lot of situations.

Reported Icon This build was created in the game version of 1.1.1.4. It may contain inaccuracies in the data that is used compared to the current version of 1.12.1.5.
