Guide

Venusaur is a heavy single target, or AoE damage dealer depending on the choice of skill upgrades. Primarily a top laner, but also viable in the bot lane. His mob clearing speed is a little more than average early game, and becomes easier as the game progresses and with a strong lead it becomes almost impossible for opponents to take care of you solo.

Passive: Overgrow
When Venusaur reaches 1/3 of his Max HP he enters Overgrow, which is indicated by the leaf icon that flashes above his head. Venusaur will remain in the overgrow state so long as his HP doesn't heal over that 1/3 Threshold increasing his overall damage output by 50%.

Basic Attack:
Venusaur's first 2 autos are razor leaf's which can be fired with or without a target in order to reach his boosted 3rd auto attack Vine Whip. Vine whip is a strong move to briefly stop enemies and reposition them to the center of where the vines meet, great for lining up opponents.

Seed Bomb:
A good first pick skill to use to allow Bulbasaur to move and attack mobs up the lane in order to reach higher valued enemies,
giving him the possibility to reach level 3 before enemies spawn.

Giga Drain:
Giga drain is an excellent tool for Venusaur giving him sustain and damage in the lane that only gets better the more people you hit. Its a good move to use either before your 2 auto attacks which don't do as much damage as the third to allow Venusaur to get in while taking less damage for the 3rd attack. Or as a clean up kill if your opponent is low enough and in range.

Solar Beam:
Now this is the move that can be swapped out with Petal Dance depending on your opponents composition. If they have more ranged attackers, which you'll see more of in the top lane go with solar beam its a hard hitting move that can snipe enemies not even in your line of sight and steal mobs. If not and your able to land more auto's consistently on enemies take Petal dance for the boost of speed and AoE damage over time to stick to enemies for more autos making it harder for them to get away.

Verdant Anger:
Venusaur's Unite move has the potential to turn battles and even the overall flow of the game if used correctly. I primarily use it as a opener in team fights for the large burst of AoE and slow, giving Venusaur and other teammates the chance to hit multiple skills with ease. Not to mention the range for Verdant Anger allows Venusaur to see further, prevent enemies from scoring, or steal named mobs.

Muscle Band:
Synergies perfectly with Venusaurs boosted auto for more damage and attack speed.

Shell Bell:
Cooldown reduction for more skill usage, Heals whenever an abilities which makes giga drain insane, and Sp. Atk boost built in.

Wise Glasses:
Damage, Damage, and Damage for all your skills more damage on your Giga Drain meaning more HP vamp.

Eject Button:
Good for engage and escape, with possible wall hopping outplays

Works Well With

Snorlax

Snorlax is a crowd control monster with heavy damage to make it even more disgusting. He makes it easier for Venusaur to hit long ranged abilities and work towards his boosted autos making it a deadly top lane team if played correctly.

Alolan Ninetales

She's pretty...
and she literally freezes enemies in place and obstructs there pathing with ice walls. Making it easier for Venusaur to land good autos and skills.

Slowbro

A tank that can CC, do damage, and forget that the enemies are even there hitting him. Not as crazy as a Snorlax combo but definitely a pair that makes it harder for enemies to even score.
