Guide

NOTE - PLEASE READ BEFORE ASSUMING A TROLL BUILD.

Cramorant's Whirlpool is one of the strongest early-game abilities, doing incredible damage and giving Cram a healthy supply of boosted auto resets. Feather-dance is a great compliment to this, as lowering your foes attack can deprive them of opportunities to retaliate. These abilities let Cramorant apply high amounts of pressure early in the match to make space for his ally laner to farm, before transitioning to a utility kit to support his team later.

On your way to the lane, leash at least 3 of the 4 aipoms to your ally laner. You may want to take one to have a bit more assurance you can hit level 4 by first bees. If a camp is contested, try to claim it with your ally - if you can stop it being contested, harrass your opponents to zone them off while your ally farms. You should get level 4 by first bees, then help your ally laner (and possibly jungler) with the bees. If you have lane pressure, zone your foes off bees and let your allies free farm. If the pressure is more evenly split, or your enemy has pressure, go for the farm with your team mates - it's better for you to claim it than risk the enemies getting it.

Once your ally laner has hit the power spike they need to be relevant, you can start claiming more farm to hit level 9. Level 9 is a major powerspike, as not only do you get your Unite move, but you also gain 10% CDR. The next major powerspike for this build is at level 13, which is 10% more CDR and a slow added to surf, but this isn't mandatory to rush - Careful use of abilities to defend allies is usually enough, and the slow doesn't add much strength to your cc combo. Use your skills primarily to protect your allies or catch foes out so your allies can kill them, and save your unite move to zone enemies off of important objectives. Do NOT use your unite move before the 3 minute mark, as you will need it for Zapdos.

If you want to play Cramorant but your team lacks a carry otherwise - do not play this build. You will need to farm up and try to be the carry your team needs instead. Play Wise Glasses or Special Specs instead of EXP Share, and consider the Air Slash/Dive skill path instead.

Works Well With

Gardevoir

Cramorants strongest point is the early lane, but he can struggle to keep up with other attackers as the game goes on. Gardevoir is the opposite. This Cramorant build can give Gardevoir the space to hit level 5 as quickly as possible, to become as relevant as possible. Cramorant can dedicate his skills to protecting Gardevoir, letting Gardevoir play for a greedier build with Psychic. Psychic, in turn, helps Cramorant do more damage.

Garchomp

Garchomp not only needs farm and levels to become strong, but can have issues sticking to foes. Cramorants cc can help Garchomp later in the match, while the support funnel strategy helps Garchomp to hit level 5 as soon as possible to get mobility.

Trevenant

Same as the above 2, but the Defender version. Trevenant can become an unkillable monster with 3 Health bars and a surprising amount of damage, all while using a Unite move that buffs his allies basic attacks, but due to an atrocious early game this reality is hard to achieve without support.

Trevenant will appreciate as much exp and farm as possible to hit level 7, where he starts becoming self sufficient. When supporting a Trevenant, you may want to swap Surf for Dive at level 6, so you can more effectively capitalize on Phantom Forest's debuff to foes. If you do this, start farming more aggressively to catch up in levels.
