Guide

I pick Leafage first, to clear the Aipoms faster. It can hit both Aipoms at the end of your lane if you line it up near the middle of them.

Leaf Tornado is easier to use than Pollen Puff for me, and I really like the movement speed increase for both yourself and allies, as well as the large, reliable chunk of damage it offers as a projectile. At level 11 with its upgrade, it makes enemies miss all of their basic attacks, so it can help secure objectives easier by denying enemies a form of damage, and helps counter characters like Greninja and Cinderace who rely heavily on their basic attacks.

Cotton Guard is just incredible for so many scenarios, being a shield that heals when it expires for your entire team. The movement speed increase for Eldegoss at levels 13-15 is also nice.

Muscle Band helps with early laning, getting to level 4 to evolve sooner, and having more impactful solo damage. It also helps you provide more ranged damage in team fights, and allows you to clutch more often if teammates are either knocked out or outright not helping you.

Your boosted attacks, and all of your abilities, including the amount of shields and healing they give, are impacted by your special attack with really nice scaling, so I find Sp. Atk Specs to be a great fit on this character. You have high max HP, so Score Shield is also a naturally good fit on this character that supplements your other scoring item, and it synergizes with your Cotton Guard shields. You can use Cotton Guard, start scoring, and it's a lot more difficult for enemies to stop your scores due to the extra shielding that stacks with Score Shield. Leaf Tornado also helps you get in/out for scores.

Eject Button is just a really nice backup security tool. I find myself rarely using it, but it helps make up for the lack of a Focus Band almost entirely for me.

Works Well With

Lucario

You help make Lucario even more broken and unkillable.

Absol

Absol is fairly squishy, and needs to operate in melee range, so your toolkit helps Absol do its job more effectively.

Alolan Ninetales

Ninetales is very strong alongside you in lane, you deal a lot of ranged damage together, and your healing and movement speed increase patches up Ninetales' major weaknesses.
