Guide

lucario, from day one, was strictly used for its power up punch, bone rush reset ability. allowing the player to deal great amounts of damage and secure kills easily with high mobility. I will be breaking this down into two styles of play. either the build shown above, with razor claw, score shield, and attack weight with PUP/BR, and another option. lucario shines in all situations when played correctly.

•LANING/JUNGLING: to start, your most focused goal should be to farm to level five as quick as possible. level five allows you to chose from power up punch, or extreme speed. though lucario has an amazing early game with quick attack/meteor mash, its important to get to level five quickly to really put pressure on your lane. I say this with a grain of salt, as lucario can really change the way a lane is played because of how much they can control. lucario is best played shooting straight for the middle audino/craudawnt, and rotating to the audino/aipom on your side of the lane wether you play top or bottom. jungle pathing would take you straight to five and allow you to gank the lane that has the most interaction. when jungling, really focus on the minimap as you will find it easier to decide where your time is well spent, or wasted. I consider laning to be the first 2:30 minutes played in the game. as soon as dreadnaw spawns, the games pace shifts towards the rotation. hence lucarios importance in pressure. with such a powerful early game, you can really shift where the game is going with how aggressive you play, allowing your team to “hopefully” rotate down for dreadnaw easily, since “hopefully” you and your teammate secured bottom/top lane with pressure.

ITEM PATH/ABILITY INTERACTION
- PUP/BR:
with lucario you have two VIABLE options of play, at least in my opinion, i do encourage you to try other styles but these two seem to be the optimal with ability/item interaction. now i usually run power up punch/ bone rush. power up punch can be reset quickly depending on how many times bone rush hits an opponent. since this build centers around razor claw, the combo is -power up punch, auto attack, bone rush, auto attack. power up punch, auto attack -. this allows for each ability to proc razor claw, increasing damage between moves. since lucario is a melee pokemon as well, razor claw will also slow the enemy down. this build centers around 1v1’s, cleaning up lower health enemies, and team fight engages. with team fights. - power up punch into the enemy team, unite move, auto attack, bone rush, auto attack, power up punch, auto attack-. this is the most EFFECTIVE combo as lucario’s unite move will boost the damage of the next power up punch used. when used in a crowd it is really really awesome. neato right?

ITEM PATH/ABILITY INTERACTION (2)
ES/CC:
now extreme speed is a really interesting move, as it plays specifically with resets when hitting an enemy pokemon, this ability will reset once upon hitting a pokemon that has not yet been hit by extreme speed, which makes this move extremely useful in team fights and the 2v2 laning phase. you deal a slick amount of damage with each extreme speed, and can proc razor claw auto attacks off of each use of extreme speed. extreme speed very good. but with your second ability choice you can really do anything else, bone rush doesnt feel as effective when paired with extreme speed, but close combat is also very hard to hit when in a 2v2 situation, and staying alive while swinging in place with close combat is also very difficult. i say play around with the two secondary abilities when paired with extreme speed to find out what is most comfortable to you.

OTHER ITEM OPTIONS

this section will be the last section, showcasing a few other item combinations that work really well with lucario, from my experience i think score shield should always be used when you have the attack weight, but its really all up to how you think you play, and what would open up more opportunities for you wether you want to score a lot, or just help the team score.
STANDARD
• focus sash/score shield/muscle band
(this build focuses on core damage/survivability with focus sash
THE DADDY SPECIAL
•razor claw/score shield/attack weight
(this build is your bois build, focusing on scoring potential with the sweet rewarding nectar of a permanent attack bonus from scoring goals, and those extra boosted auto attacks after every ability.
THE TEAM PLAYER
•score shield/buddy barrier/focus sash
this build centers around team fights, if you can extreme speed, or power up punch, into a group and smack that ult button, you’re getting a massive shield and a huge opportunity to do some big damage with your team, and hopefully secure some objectives and points.

SUMMARY:
after all of that reading, i really hope you get a general idea of lucario, and at least walked outta reading this with something new in mind. i really love this game, as a big boy going to college and working big boy job, this game is a beautiful mix of nostalgia and competitive play. i encourage you to play around with lucario and kick some tail. if you have questions or anything of the sort just join my unite squad called daddys . thats it! have fun champs SQUAD ID: #M68F3H0T
