Guide

Everyone has fought the annoying jungling Crustle. They use their score shield to quickly score and then race away from you and your teammates with shell smash, then do the same thing at bottom lane. Even crowd control doesn’t usually work fast enough to stop him. Well, with this build and strategy, that won’t happen anymore.

When you find Crustle scoring, signal for backup if you don’t already have it and start with your basic attacks. When they try to run, chase Crustle with spark, then use discharge for the extra damage. You should have been able to keep close at minimum, but it’s better if you end up in front of Crustle. Since Shell Smash lowers defense you’ll be able to deal more damage then you would think. At this point they’ll probably try to turn on you and attack. With your teammate catching up, this is a fatal mistake. If Crustle does try to keep running, don’t attack until you are ahead, (if it applies, grab the green fruit) and start the cycle again. Eventually, Crustle won’t be able to survive any longer. Do be careful not to overextend, however.

A lot of Crustles also like to try stealing Drednaw or Rotom with stealth rock. Therefore when at objectives with teammates, try to make sure you have your moves available when the objective has low health. Then deal huge amounts of damage at once — discharge is perfect for this — preventing steals.

If you need an example of the kind of Crustle I'm talking about, look at Split Path Crustle by Kujo (https://www.pokemonunite.gg/build/2719/crustle-split-push-crustle) Other than that, just play this build like a normal zeraora. Hopefully a lot more Crustles start dying soon! (No offense if you are a Crustle main)

Works Well With

Snorlax

Snorlax can block one of Crustle’s escape paths, meaning the only escape is through your speed flux zone, making Crustle easier to keep up with. This also applies to Mr. Mime. Snorlax’s yawn also works really fast compared to other cc

Venusaur

Venusaur’s attacks are very long range and can attack Crustle from further away. That way he doesn’t have to keep up.

Wigglytuff

Although Wigglytuff can’t keep up with Crustle, (believe me, I’ve tried), they can get close and so won’t be far behind when Crustle’s shell smash runs out. This applies in general to any faster Pokémon, but I’ve found Wigglytuff’s cc helps a lot, be it roll out or sing, once Crustle can’t run that is.
