Guide

ITEMS:
CHOICE SPECS: The extra damage this item gives is crazy. At 15 its ~500 damage, which is 8%-9% the health of your priority targets. Early game it makes you even more of a menace.

SHELL BELL: Allows you to be aggressive and bully in lane, while still giving you a bit of bonus damage. Focus band has far too long a cooldown (in my opinion.) You shouldn't be getting caught often with proper position.

WISE GLASSES: While the late game damage increase is mild overall, the amount you get early game from this + all other items is great!

LANE: TOP
Top Lane is the ideal. Why? In my opinion, doing well in top lane is more game winning than other lanes. Top lane will be left alone most of the game as Drednaw is a focus in the bot lane. If you manage to cripple your opponents there, you secure an early Drednaw very easily. Pikachu also excels even with the less experience that comes with being top.

ALT MOVES:
Occasionally Electro Ball or Volt Tackle, but these are situational. Against a team with a lot of speedsters/characters with mobility, Thunder loses a lot of utility since Electroball is a Sure-Hit move. Volt Tackle is also good against these teams, as locking down those speedsters is usually a death sentence for them.

GAMEPLAY:
Pikachu is a decent lane bully early. You want to ensure that you get the last hits in your lane if you are laning with a defender so that you can get level 4 as soon as possible. Ideally try to get level 6 before rotating for the first Drednaw, as Thunderbolt is too valuable to lose during those first fights.

Pikachu's boosted auto is nearly instant, allowing you to steal wild pokemon from your opponents with proper timing. Thunder Shock is also great at this. The slow effects from both allow you to harass and zone out your opponents to secure your wild pokemon kills.

Thunder is severely underrated. When used, it ticks almost immediately, catching people off-guard for wild pokemon. It also does a lot of damage and creates a zone of control. Thunder is also invaluable at preventing people from scoring goals.

Thunder is also a set-it and forget it spell. Due to the cast time being so quick, you aren't risking yourself being caught in an animation for a defender like Snorlax initiating on you. Its range + damage also beats out Electroball, and you don't need a target to utilize it. This allows you to check bushes with Thunder and scout for you and your team.

During team fights, your main goal is to Thunderbolt and Thunder the backline of the enemy team to deal massive damage (also known as poking). This sets up for follow up from your allies, and combo of both abilities leaves most other characters at 50% HP or less. Positioning is KEY as Pikachu. Your moves are up often and can safely harass the enemy team from a far distance.

Don't be afraid to use your UNITE move often, after a projected successful Thunderbolt + Thunder, you can kill most priority targets (Greninja, Cinderace, Ninetails, etc.) if you use the UNITE move and dive on them when they have no support.

Works Well With

Snorlax

Snorlax allows you to combo onto his moves and deal massive damage with your AOE attacks. He is one of the premier peelers too and is able to help you keep your distance.

Wigglytuff

Wiggly's insanely oppressive early game synergizes well with everything you want to do. Once you both hit 4, Wiggly can guarantee your Thunder's entire damage. Late game you can also CC chain entire teams.

Mamoswine

This character's insane damage and lockdown early game is ridiculous with Pikachu. Thunder is almost guaranteed to fully deal its damage with his CC.
