At the beginning of the game, try using Water Gun to steal Wild Pokemon from your lane opponents. Once you get Surf, don't be afraid to dive in and take the hits while your Attacker melts the opposition!
When in a team fight, aim Surf to hit as many enemy Pokemon as possible. Use Telekinesis when the Attacker on the enemy team gets too close, or the enemy Speedster/All-Rounder tries to jump on your Attacker.
Try to set up with your team for Drednaw and Zapdos early. Your job is to zone the enemy team away from the objective, not to take it. You don't have enough damage to secure it.
The enemy Pokemon that has the best tools to secure objectives are the target for your Unite move. With the combo Surf-Unite, (and Energy Amplifier) you can often one-shot squishier enemies.
Shell Bell and Energy Amplifier give you shorter cooldowns for a lot more locking down the enemies.
Focus Band helps you stay in the front line a long time!
Use Buddy Barrier instead of Energy Amplifier if you have a lot of squishy allies.
