Guide

Masters Mime one trick with over 300 ranked games as Mime

I always go Fake Out first to help clear faster

Confusion gives mime a ranged poke and offers much more burst damage than Psychic. Confusion stuns when enemies hit walls so you can use terrain to your advantage, unlike Psychic which relies exclusively on Barrier/Light Screen for stuns. Confusion is great for pushing away enemies to allow teammates to score or escape. It can also be a great finisher. It is important to make sure not to knock away opponents at the beginning or end of a fight as it gives them a free dash away.

Barrier is great for trapping escaping enemies, starting a fight with a sudden walled off pick, preventing enemies from returning to their goal, protecting teammates trying to score or escape, blocking lanes while teammates do objectives, setting up for sudden Confusion stun (Confusion does significantly more damage when enemies hit a wall so be sure to always try to knock enemies and wild Pokemon into terrain or Barriers)

Barrier also offers very nice counter play for enemies that are otherwise hard or impossible to CC. Barrier stops Gengar hex and Machamp submission.

You can save Mimes third hit knock up for about 5 seconds so before a fight I attack the air twice to get ready to initiate with the empowered attack.

Buddy Barrier is the most important held item for Mime. If nothing else max this first. Mime is very vulnerable during his Unite move especially since he should be trying to trap as many people in it as possible. Buddy Barrier gives mime plenty of shield allowing him to survive hit full Unite move and have some health left over to engage afterwards. Additionally it gives the support option to Unite near a dying teammate to save them with the shield.

I see a lot of people running wise glasses and shell bell on mime and I really dont think its worth it, Mr Mime has the lowest special attack out of all the characters that use special attack. That means you get less value out of the % increase from wise glasses and you get less healing from shell bell. I dont think the damage increase from either would be enough to insta-kill anyone with confusion either. Confusion does decent damage, but if you wanna kill people you probably shouldn't be playing a support. Mime gets value from his CC, damage isn't what you should be focusing on. At the end of the day you cant help your team if youre dead and Mime has the potential to be an amazing tank.

Eject button is really nice for going in to finish people off or getting away. Going through walls or getting behind people to knock them into a wall with confusion can trip people up and help you 1v3 like Mime was meant to. I have also enjoyed taking X Speed for similar reasons but with the added benefit of slow immunity.

Works Well With

Lucario

Dominate early game, once mime hits 4 and Lucario hits 5 you win your lane.

Snorlax

Lots of bulk and CC combo together nicely, Heavy slam sets up for walls, walls set up for block, etc

Slowbro

Again great CC follow up, telekinesis sets up for wall confusion stun, then surf, rinse repeat
