Guide

(Quick disclaimer!! - These emblems are my current build for what I own. I would prioritize Color bonuses, unlike my Build. Either way, My emblems are Solid!!)

HOW TO PLAY

Play Buzzwole as an aggressive sustain brawler built for extended fights. Use Lunge to engage, reposition, and stay on opponents. Follow with basic attacks to build your Muscle Gauge, then use Leech Life at high/full gauge for maximum damage and healing.

Core rotation:
Lunge → Basic Attacks → Build Muscle Gauge → Leech Life → Heal → Continue Fighting → Repeat

Don't play Buzzwole like a burst assassin. The philosophy of this build is to stay in the fight for as long as possible. Build Muscle Gauge, convert it into damage and healing through Leech Life, then immediately begin building your gauge again.

HELD ITEMS — 40/40/40

• Attack Weight
• Weakness Policy
• Muscle Band

Attack Weight increases physical Attack through scoring and strengthens Buzzwole's damage and Leech Life healing. Weakness Policy fits the frontline playstyle by rewarding Buzzwole for taking damage during extended fights. Muscle Band strengthens the basic attacks used between abilities while you're building Muscle Gauge.

For the completed version of this build, all three held items should be upgraded to Lv.40.

EMBLEMS

+90 HP
+6 Attack
+4 Defense
+4 Sp. Defense
+35 Move Speed
+0.5% Critical-Hit Rate
−24.6 Sp. Attack

The emblem philosophy is to sacrifice Special Attack, which Buzzwole doesn't need, in exchange for Attack, HP, defenses, movement speed, and other useful physical stats.

BATTLE ITEM

I currently use Potion.

Potion is especially useful early because Buzzwole is vulnerable before unlocking Leech Life. It gives you another source of sustain so you can remain in fights until your main healing ability becomes available.

Later in the match, Potion becomes an emergency heal. If you're taking heavy damage, it can keep you alive long enough to land another Leech Life, recover HP, and continue fighting instead of being forced to retreat.

ALTERNATIVE BATTLE ITEM

I don't have Full Heal unlocked yet, but I think it's worth considering.

One of Leech Life's biggest weaknesses is that hindrances can interrupt it. Full Heal can help deal with that problem by removing hindrances and temporarily protecting you from them.

The trade-off is losing Potion. That makes you more vulnerable early before Leech Life is unlocked and removes your emergency healing option later.

If you're comfortable sacrificing that extra sustain, Full Heal could make the Leech Life strategy more reliable against teams with heavy crowd control.

OVERALL PHILOSOPHY

Get in. Build Muscle Gauge. Use Leech Life. Recover. Keep fighting.

This build isn't about jumping in, dumping your abilities, and escaping. It's designed around making Buzzwole extremely difficult to remove from an extended fight.

The longer you can maintain the cycle of pressure → Muscle Gauge → Leech Life → healing → pressure, the more dangerous Buzzwole becomes.

Works Well With

Comfey

Provides Shield. Any Pokemon that offers Buffs, Honestly.
