Guide

For those who chose Sucker Punch, either because you prefer it over Psycho Cut or because you chose it by accident, this guide is for you.

Your first order of business is to take the jungle. Absol can do this faster than any other pokemon most of the time, so you might also be able to get away with wandering into the enemy jungle and challenging them to a 1v1. Only do this if you have full confidence in the matchup and your abilities.

Keep an eye on where their jungler goes and how many pokemon are in each lane. Your job from here on out is to flank them from behind with Pursuit, score if you can, and then crit your enemies into oblivion. Don't worry about needing to escape; unless they have slow effects, almost no one can match your speed.

Once the objectives start to spawn, this is where Sucker Punch comes into play. Multiple people like to rush Drednaw (and your team) at once, and Sucker Punch has a brief stun in addition to a pseudo-dodge, which can be invaluable in team fights. It can also be used to avoid certain attacks from Drednaw, if you care about that sort of thing. Absol can shred these objectives amazingly quickly, especially once it gets its ult. The best use of it is when multiple enemies are in the same area, or to steal an objective at low health.

Works Well With

Snorlax

Great CC, Block sets up well for Pursuit positioning, Heavy Slam displaces and traps enemies for Absol to pick them off

Gardevoir

Gardevoir's ult traps multiple enemies in the same area, setting up amazingly for Midnight Slash or even just a single Pursuit

Blastoise

Blastoise can push people into Absol's range and away from the goal, and its ult is fantastic at setting up for Absol's positioning
