Guide

Notes before reading: Although Crustle is a defender, he functions more like a slightly tankier Speedster with this build (at least, after level 4). This means that this build can also work in the jungle. If you are jungling, you can equip Razor Claw or Muscle Band over Focus Band, but you can also have Focus Band if you want to stay alive longer.

For lane: start with Rock Slide. You need to prioritise level 3 so you can stun enemies with Slide and steal Aipoms or Audinos with Fury Cutter. This also works for stealing Combees so you can easily get level 4.

Once you have level 4, you have a lot of mobility and can increase damage with Shell Smash. Use Smash and Cutter combined to farm quickly for Level 6. Level 6 Crustle is a powerhouse as you can use your high HP couples with speed from Shell Smash to run through the enemy team, then use X-Scissor to push them into your lane partner. This is the core idea of this build.

This is also where Scope Lens comes into play as you can get more crits with X-Scissor (it has the ability to crit) and boosted attacks, which were buffed in 1.3.1.7 recently.

At this stage of the game, it will be time for the first objective, so go to Rotom or Drednaw and fight using the technique of the Shell Smash - X-Scissor - basic attacks combo. It is also beneficial to use Full Heal before Shell Smash so you can run through the enemies uninterrupted. If the objective is on low health, just push the enemies backwards with X-Scissor, you don't need to run through them and your teammates can secure.

The rest of the game plays out like this too. Same technique for laning and all teamfights. When using Unite Move at Zapdos, use both the Unite Move and Shell Smash for maximum shield (from BB) and damage. You may even survive long enough for two X-Scissors, especially if you are level 13 because of the amount of shield power!

For jungle:

It is similar early game - use Fury Cutter and Shell Smash to farm quickly. You are fairly weak on level 5 gank, but on second gank you are very powerful with the Shell Smash-X Scissor combo to push enemies towards laners. For the rest of the game, work up to level 13, keep ganking and teamfighting to get level 13 before Zapdos to try and dish out 2 X-Scissors before dying at Zapdos. Hit as many people as possible with these X-Scissors. This should be enough to win the game if all done properly, especially with crits on teamfights/ganks from Scope lens!

Works Well With

Cramorant

It is easy to predict where enemies are moved to with X-Scissor. This makes it easier for Cramorant to hit Hurricane, Air Slash, Whirlpool, or Surf.

Blissey

It negates CC with Safeguard. If Blissey is on your lane, you can use a different Battle Item.
