How I play Eldegoss.
You can cover the bottom or top with this loadout, though just judge it on what your team is doing. It's best to follow a Ninetails, Cinderance, Zeraora or Garchomp. Though this doesn't mean you don't help the rest of your teams, every character is better with a Eldegoss supporting them.
Spam Pollen Puff and Cotton Guard on teammates at all times. While shooting your basic attack at the enemy, it shoots far and slows opponents every three shots, so you can chase retreating opponents with little risk to yourself.
Your worst matchups are Cinderance, Lucario, Zeraora and Gengar. You can handle their pre-evolutions decently, but if you see them fully evolved, back up behind a teammate and if you're alone, run away and find a teammate. Don't be hesitant to use the Eject Button. Remember, even in a team fight, they will target you, if they know what they're doing.
You can score, just make sure it's safe before you do so. Make sure attackers have points before you go picking up points. You can help with wilds but don't steal the attacker's points, though don't be totally hesitant to attack wilds, you need the EXP.
Running Shell Bell, Leftovers and Rocky Helmet for self preservation. Makes you much more tanky, and with spamming Cotton Guard, only the the most nasty DPS characters should take you down. And you'll punish them for trying with the Rocky Helmet
You can swap Leftovers or Rocky Helmet for the Buddy Barrier, but this shouldn't really matter if unless you and your teammate are vastly outnumbered, in which case you should just be retreating. It also doesn't help during full team fights around Zapdos, the constant Pollen Puffs and Cotten Guards should be enough. Along with that, Cotten Cloud Crash is already a great ultimate and heals teammates for loads, adding a shield to one is less helpful than you'd think. And I'd rather have more defense and HP all the time than a shield I can only have during my Ultimate that already makes me invincible, and lets me have a speed boost to escape.
EXP shouldn't be an issue if you're covering the bottom. You'll typically end matches at level 12-14 so I find the EXP Share unnecessary as long as you're K.Oing wilds and helping teammates
Eject button is a great choice on every character, so it's pretty good for getting out of fights with Edlegoss. It also further invalidates the use of Cotten Spore. Potion is a good choice if you wish to further your tanky-ness, and I definitely recommend swapping between the two depending on your team. Slow Smoke is also good if you wish to help out your team a little more, and acts as a decent escape option.
As a side note, do not underestimate Leaf Tornado, it is a very good offensive/support attack. Pollen puff is good, but it lacks damage to defend yourself against most the cast. Leaf Tornado is also a very good option if you're playing against a particularly defensive team, so swap specials according to the matchup.
